The Vicar and Dean of the Chapel of Annunciation of the Archbishop Vining College of Theology in Akure in Ondo state has urged stakeholders in the upcoming Governorship elections to abide by the rules of the game and eschew violence.
In a statement yesterday, Venerable Ayodeji Fagbemi appealed to the Federal Government to ensure adequate security for the exercise which comes up this Saturday, 19th of October 2011.
"As a Christian body, we view it as a responsibility to speak to the society in relation to thr forthcoming exercise, not only because we are part of the society, but because our society belongs to God and we believe that every soul matters. We also believe it is the church's duty to speak out at a time like this".
There has been so much tension gripping the state as the election day approaches and most of the political parties are trying their best to unseat the current Governor Olusegun Mimiko.
