As a nation’s monetary unit of currency is used to acquire natural goods and services so faith is heaven’s unit of currency. Money on it’s own is meaningless. It’s paper or metal that you cannot shelter in; cannot drink or eat to quench thirst or satisfy hunger; cannot medicate sickness or disease with it; cannot solve problems with it etc. It is what money empowers you to do that makes it important.
It’s not the proportion of the faith that you possess; it’s the proportion you use.
So it is with faith. On it’s own it has no meaning at all but with it we can touch and access the very realm of God, His angels and every resource He possesses on behalf of humanity. When faith is released Heaven enters the room. The evangelical world makes a huge issue out of love, but as important as love is, it is not a replacement for faith. Love is not the panacea to every fulfilled promise in God’s word. Both have their place in the life of a believer. Love goes to the motivation but faith gives access to God and possess His promises for yourself. All that evangelicals can really talk about is saving faith, yet going beyond that they live in over-stated realms of the ‘sovereignty of God’ where everything that comes their way that life throws at them, is accepted with a “whatever will be, will be” philosophy.
One leading evangelical n the UK told a friend of mine, “With your power and my theology we would make a great team.” To which my friend replied, “If I had your theology I would never have got out of my backyard.” Faith gets you out of the devil’s backyard into God’s glory. Faith does not have a fatalistic view of life.” It challenges the adversity before it and in the midst of attack turns every negative situation around that does not line up with ‘abundant life’.
Whenever a believer tries to move God on their or anyone else’s behalf with anything else other than faith then they have moved into calling on another god other than the God of our Lord Jesus Christ! Through over 30 years of ministering the Word I have heard people angry at God because they got no response from Him because of trying to move Jesus with their pain, their tears, their need, their hardship, their self-righteousness, their works, their sense of entitlement etc. Other’s that refuse to operate in faith towards Him as He sets out in His word have told me that it doesn’t matter because: ‘He understands’, or ‘knows what I mean’, or ‘He knows I’m His child’, or ‘He loves me so He will answer me’…etc These are the lazy quips of evangelicals who can’t be bothered to find out how to operate in the spirit. Their attack on the ‘word of faith’ that Paul said he preached brings upon themselves self-inflicted blindness. Faith moves God! Faith is the currency of the realm of God.
Look at the currency of faith being honoured by God in ordinary people’s lives:
Matt 9:2 When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.” [And the paralytic was healed.]
Matt 9:22 But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, “Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And the woman was made well from that hour.
Matt 9:29 Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.”
Matt 15:28 Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.
Matt 17:20 So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
Luke 7:9 When Jesus heard these things, He marveled at him, and turned around and said to the crowd that followed Him, “I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!” [And the servant was healed.]
Luke 7:50 Then He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”
Luke 8:25 But He said to them, “Where is your faith?” And they were afraid, and marveled, saying to one another, “Who can this be? For He commands even the winds and water, and they obey Him!”
Luke 8:48 And He said to her, “Daughter, be of good cheer; your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”
Luke 17:6 So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.
Luke 17:19 And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.”
And in the Book of Acts:
Acts 3:16 And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
Acts 6:8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and signs among the people.
Acts 11:24 For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord.
Acts 14:8-10 And in Lystra a certain man without strength in his feet was sitting, a cripple from his mother’s womb, who had never walked. This man heard Paul speaking. Paul, observing him intently and seeing that he had faith to be healed, said with a loud voice, “Stand up straight on your feet!” And he leaped and walked.
