This film is
Egyptian Princes Moses (Christian Bale) and Ramses (Joel Edgerton) are raised together as brothers. When Ramses becomes pharaoh, Moses is his most-trusted adviser. However Moses soon discovers his Hebrew parentage, and Ramses banishes him to the desert -- often a death sentence. But God has a missio… Moren for Moses: Free the Israelites from slavery. Moses returns from exile and demands that Ramses let his people go, but the arrogant ruler is unmoved, leading to a battle of divine wills.
It is quite an interesting movie which is a must see this December. Ridley Scott has been liberal in depicting some of the activities in the biblical version of the story. And this has brought some criticisms ranging from racism charge for casting white western actors in the lead roles of what is a Middle Eastern/north African story to a ban in Egypt because of inaccuracies. The head of the Egyptian censorship board said that the inaccuracies included the film's depiction of Jews as having built the Pyramids, and that an earthquake, not a miracle by Moses, caused the Red Sea to part.
"Exodus: Gods and Kings" cost $140 million and has, as at 2 days ago, has grossed $107 million internationally.
