Alleged N6Bn Bribe: CAN, PFN Leaders Should Resign Now – Bishop Nwator

Sequel to the alleged N6 Billion bribe collected by the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria(CAN) and Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria(PFN), Archbishop (Dr) Friday Nwator JP,OON, President of International Integrity Bishops College and Faithful Ministers World Network has advised the affected officers to resign honourably, as they no longer have moral right to continue in office.

Nwator stated this in a press statement issued in Port Harcourt and made available to Nigerian NewsDirect. Bishop Nwator, a UN Ambassador and former Chairman of All Nigerian Medical Doctors said, “Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor and other leaders of CAN and PFN, given the allegation of taking N6 billion as confirmed by Governor Chibuike Amaechi, Sahara Reporters and Northern Christians have violated the laws of God and therefore should resign.

“A situation where the President of CAN who should guide us in prayer for our nation Nigeria, will be collecting money for such prayer is totally unacceptable to the Almighty God.” The man of God further said that he is aware that those leaders because they have collected money will argue not to resign and even try to justify why they should collect money and buy aeroplane because Nigeria is going through election.

Dr Nwator recalled how one Bishop Simeon Okah publicly challenged Governor Amaechi in Calabar over the issue, describing it as unfortunate, adding that men of God ought to respect those in authority. Bishop Simeon Okah he said was quoted to have openly told Governor Amaechi to shut up.

“A situation where a bishop that visits Rivers State Government for pleasantries, will tell the same Governor to shut up is unfortunate and shows that such bishop has lost contact with God.”
The Archbishop said the proper thing for a man of God to do if offended is to seek reconciliation, instead of resorting to open abuse and moreso the person in question is a governor of a State who God has put in authority.

“I call on Christians not to listen to the leaders of CAN and PFN who should have resigned by now, but instead should listen to the prompting of the holy spirit and carry out devoted serious prayers across the country. The leadership of CAN and PFN have failed us, they have failed God and should all resign,” Nwator affirmed.

He also took a swipe on the Vice President, Namadi Sambo for telling Muslim clerics that General Muhammadu Buhari will sell Nigeria to Christians if given the mandate to rule the country, stressing that the Vice President at his level should not play such childish politics. Archbishop Nwator advised Nigerians, especially Christians to listen to the Holy Spirit and vote the right candidates in the forthcoming general elections.
