Drug Trafficking - Two Nigerian Pilgrims Cleared in Saudi Arabia


Three Nigerian Pilgrims were arrested by the Saudi Arabian authorities for alleged possession of substance suspected to be cocaine but two of them have been released. 

This was confirmed in a statement in Abuja by NAHCON, The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria. 

The statement added that the arrested pilgrims from Kwara State were released following investigation that they were not guilty of the offence and that they were arrested in error. The two suspects whose identities are yet to be disclosed despite worry by some of the relatives of those performing the Hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia.

The three pilgrims, who were among the first batch of 505 Pilgrims from Kwara, were arrested in Madinnah by Saudi Arabia security operatives on August 9th and 12th.
