There are reports that more of the Chibok schoolgirls have been released. However the actual number has not been verified. Some reports claim 80 while others claim 82. However a new report from Sahara Reporters claim that they are indeed 62.
These girls were abducted by the militant sect in mid-April 2014.
It is claimed that the release of the 80 abducted school girls came after further negotiations between the Islamist group and the Muhammadu Buhari administration.
The girls are currently in Banki town in Borno State, waiting to be airlifted to an unknown destination.
Oby Ezekwesili, the co-ordinator of the #Bringbackourgirls campaign in Nigeria expressed on Twitter that she hoped the story was true. She is waiting on the Presidency to confirm the news
