One security operative was killed while another injured when two suicide bombers detonated the bombs strapped to their bodies.
The two suicide bombers were part of a three-man team that attempted to enter the department of Works of the University of Maiduguri in Borno state.
They were sighted by security guards who stopped them for interrogation. It was during the interrogation that two of the suicide bombers detonated the bombs killing one guard and injuring another.
According to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the third suicide bomber hid close to a church in the university and detonated her explosive which affected the structure of the church.
The incident was said to have happened at about 1.10a.m. on Saturday.
The injured person has been taken to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital while the were corpses were evacuated to Borno Specialist Hospital by NEMA ERT team.
