Worrying is one activity many persons cannot do without. No matter how you try to convince people to overcome worrying, they will still deviate. It is a part of nature. However, with discipline, one can overcome it. Think about what you lose by getting over worried. Most times, you lose focus. Likewise, you do not see that God can always settle every weight you may be carrying on your shoulders.
Matthew 6:27-32 talks about how people over worry, yet, solutions are not proffered for their worries. That portion of the scripture says:
"Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
"Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things".
God has always assured us that He will be there for us even in our trying times. Why do people place more importance on being doubtful than on trusting God?
Challenges are a part of our lives. We will always have a means to be doubtful. However, do we allow it to subdue us? This was why Matthew 6:27-32 was given to us. Those words are quite comforting. God wants us to trust Him totally. He is definitely not in support of the unnecessary feeling of doubt. Why worry when you can trust God? Thinking will only cause you more problems to your health. Hence, you have to thrash it
Over thinking affects your output
In our place of work, putting too much time to thinking about work may wary us. That time you are taking to worry about work, put it into actions. Often, we are faced with situations that affect our state of mind. It also causes us to think negatively. However, if we work on how we feel, we will overcome that situation.
Below are notable examples of Christian leaders that had challenges. However, they later pulled through when they put in the right attitude.
1. David and Joyce Meyer
Financial challenge is one issue that many persons do not want to go through. During the financial challenges of David and Joyce Meyer, David often wore an excited look. On the other hand, Joyce was always worried and angry. She was not comfortable with the situation. Along the line, God touched her and she had a positive mindset over her challenges.
Presently, Joyce is the founder of Joyce Meyer Ministries and she has been impacting lives through her ministry over the years.
2. Nick Vijuicic
Nick Vijuicic needs no introduction. He is a famous preacher who was born without hands and legs. This challenge made him suicidal at an early age. It also made him depressed. Many years down the line, Vijuicic overcame his depression and made a name for himself. Today, he is an example to many persons. He is an epitome of faith, hope, and love.
3. Ben Carson
Ben Carson is a neurosurgeon who started out his education poorly. He was known as a dull student in elementary school. It was a challenging period for him but he did not give up. His challenges did not deter him from his purpose. With the help of his mom, he worked harder to become the best in his class. He is also famous for separating co-joined twins. His story has been acted into film.
Ways to overcome over thinking
1. Look for something that will take your mind from thinking.
2. Put up an attitude of thanksgiving; it could have been worse.
3. Dwell on the word of God regularly. It helps your mind to stay focused.
4. Stay positive. Being negative does not solve issues.
5. Pray about the situation. It is not every situation that you can control. With God all things are possible.
