Tope Alabi is a Nigerian gospel musician who has excelled in the industry over the years. She was born on October 27, 1970. Today, she clocked 50 years. Her family, friends, and well wishers have joined her to celebrate her special day. She is also a film song composer and actress.
Tope Alabi is the only daughter in a family of three children. Her parents Pa Joseph Akinyele Obayomi and Madam Agnes Kehinde Obayomi- were a formidable part of her upbringing. The indigene of Yewa, Imeko, in Ogun state was born in Lagos. More so, she is married and bless with two daughters, Ayomiku and Deborah.
Her talent got an offshoot when she became a member of the Jesters International comedy group. Afterward, she became a part of theatre groups in Lagos and Ibadan. As time went by, she delved into gospel music. This was after she dedicated her life to Jesus Christ.
Education was a top priority for her parents. The renowned gospel musician is an alumnus of Oba Akinyele Memorial High School, Ibadan where she obtained her West Africa School Certificate (WAEC) in 1986. Likewise, she studied Mass Communication in Ibadan Polytechnic and she graduated in 1990.
Between 1990 and 1991, Tope Alabi worked as a correspondent in the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) in Ibadan. Her acting skills were further strengthened when she joined Alade Aromire theatre group. There, she learned various aspects of stage drama, film and sound track productions.
Tope Alabi is an inspiration to many persons, both in Nigeria and beyond. She has been duly honored by her peers and colleagues. She has blessed lives with her songs over the years.
As she marks a new year in her life, we pray that the good Lord will continue to strengthen and inspire her for greater works.
