Nigerian gospel singer, songwriter, producer, and instrumentalist, Dunsin Oyekan, clocked 36 years on November 5, 2020. He is the convener of the Code Red Worship Experience and the Healing Room Worship Event. Born on November 5, 1984 in Ilorin, Oyekan is popularly known as The Eagle.
He is an alumnus of Airforce Nursery and Primary school, Federal Government College, and Baptist Model High School, all in Ilorin. Also, he is a graduate of Industrial Chemistry, University of Ilorin. His music career was influenced by his father who encouraged him to learn the guitar. At age 10, he was already a pro in playing the guitar. Beyond the guitar, Oyekan is also proficient in playing the drums and keyboard.
The former choir director at Common Wealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Oyekan released his 14 track debut album Code Red in 2016. It has gotten positive reviews so far.
Among the persons he has shared the same stage with include Sinach, Freke Umoh, Frank Edwards, Tasha Cobbs, Kurt Carr, Don Moen, Byron Cage, Tye Tribbett, William Murphy, Kim Burrell, and Tasha Page-Lockhart.
Among his notable performances include The Experience where he performed ‘Na You’ with Kim Burell. His works have not gone unnoticed. Ynaija has named him one of the 100 Most Influential People in Christian Ministry in Nigeria.
In 2019, Africa Gospel Music and Media Awards (AGMMA) nominated his song Imole De for the Song of Excellence category.
Until her death, Dunsin Oyekan was married to Adedoyin Oyekan, and the union produced two lovely children.
