The latest album of music sensation, Carrie Underwood, has made it to the top of four charts. This would make it the ninth time her album will top the chart in her career, Christian Headlines reports.
The album, My Savior, made it to number four on the Billboard 200 chart and topped the Christian Albums chart. The Universal Music Group stated that Underwood's album made it to number 1 spot on the following charts: Top Christian Albums, Top Country Albums, Billboard's Top Albums, and Current Digital Album.
Furthermore, Universal Music Group stated that $112,000 was raised for Save The Children at Underwood’s live Easter performance of her latest album while about 2.5 million people viewed the event. Gospel artist, CeCe Winans also graced the event with a special appearance with Underwood as they both sang ‘’Great Is Thy Faithfulness’’.
My Savior album has songs like ‘’Nothing But The Blood of Jesus’’, ‘’How Great Thou Art’’, and ‘’Softly and Tenderly’’ which she featured CeCe Winans on. The album also had classic hymns like ‘’The Old Rugged Cross’’, ‘’Great Is Thy Faithfulness’’, and ‘’Amazing Grace’’.
Previously, she had released Christian songs like ‘’Hallelujah’’ featuring John Legend, ‘’Something in the Water’’ and "Jesus, Take the Wheel".
While appearing on Good Morning America, Underwood said that My Savior is intended to serve as a companion to her Christmas album, My Gift. She also affirmed that she is excited about making faith-based music again. In her words;
"When I was making this music, I felt like my soul was in such a great place, I wanted to keep making music like the music off of My Gift. It's just been such a blessing to make music like this, music that is near and dear to my heart. I hope you guys enjoy listening to it as much as I loved making it".
