Pastor Dare Adeboye, the son of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has passed on. The PUNCH reports that the deceased died on Wednesday in his sleep at Eket, Akwa Ibom State, where he resided with his family. He was aged 42.
According to reports, Pastor Dare Adeboye preached a day before his passing. He was the Assistant Pastor in charge of Region (Youth) 35. After he went to bed and did not wake up, his wife, Temiloluwa, was said to have raised the alarm.
A source told The PUNCH that the deceased was not sick neither did he complain of anything before the sad incident. Pastors were asked to pray for him but it did not yield any positive result. However, some leaders of the church that were reached out to could not make any statement on the incident.
On Thursday morning, the news was confirmed by the Head of Media and Public Relations, RCCG, Pastor Olaitan Olubiyi. In his words,
“It is true. The incident happened in Eket where he was based. I don’t have the details for now. Maybe before the end of today, we will issue a statement.”
