Jonathan Lotz, one of the grandsons of late American preacher, Billy Graham, has been taken out of the intensive care unit as he battles COVID-19. According to his mother, Anne Graham Lotz, he is presently in rehab. She stated that the prayers for her son’s recovery have been effective.
Last weekend, Graham Lotz asked for prayers for Jonathan on her social media page. She had said that although her son was in the ICU, he was "physically exhausted yet spiritually overflowing" as he shared the gospel of Jesus “with the ER & ICU staff!” However, on Wednesday, she broke the news of his recovery on Facebook.
“PRAISE GOD!!! Praise our prayer-hearing, prayer-answering God! Jonathan has just been moved out of ICU. Now he begins rehab!!” she posted.
In addition, the 73-year-old mother posted a poem she felt relates to her present situation.
“Trust Him when dark doubts assail thee, Trust Him when they strength is small. Trust Him when to simply trust Him is the hardest thing of all. Trust Him He is ever faithful. Trust Him for His will is best. Trust Him for the heart of Jesus is the only place to rest. Trust Him then through tears and sunshine, All thy cares upon Him cast. Till the storms of life are over and the trusting days are past,” she wrote.
She equally appreciated everyone who prayed for her son when he was in the ICU. Likewise, she asked for more prayers so that his healing will not come with further complications. She included Psalm 18:1-3 to her post which reads,
“I will love You, O Lord, my strength...my deliverer...my God in whom I will trust. ...I will call on the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved...”
In 2018, The Winston-Salem Journal reported that Jonathan Lotz worked with his grandfather, Billy Graham, from 1994 to 2002. He is still continuing the legacy of his grandfather by preaching the gospel through Jonathan Lotz Ministries globally.
