On Monday, American entertainer and business woman, Kim Kardashian visited the Vatican City. She went with her 18-year old daughter, Lila Grace, 47-year-old supermodel Kate Moss, hairstylist Chris Appleton, and her makeup artist, Mario Dedivanovic.
Her dressing was the centre of attraction. The 40-year-old star wore a sheer, off-the-shoulder white lace dress with revealing cutouts. As expected, her outfit was greeted by critics who stated that she had no respect for the firm dress code of the religious site. Sleeveless and low-cut outfits are prohibited by the Vatican and it appears that Kardashian broke the rules.
However, on Thursday, the entertainer took to Instagram to assure her fans that she “adhered to the dress code and fully covered up while inside St. Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel.”
As an act of respect, Kardashian pulled a long leather coat over her curve-hugging gown when she entered the holy venue. She also entered various chapels and the Basilica which is majorly a centre of attraction for tourists yearly. They took loads of pictures as they uploaded for their fans. Her post read,
“We had the most incredible experience touring Vatican City @vaticanmuseums. It was amazing to be able to view all of the iconic art, architecture and ancient Roman sculptures in person, especially Michelangelo’s work. We even had an opportunity to view their private archive of robes worn by every pope in history, dating back to the 1500’s.”
In their comments, some persons accused Kardashian of lacking decorum. Another commenter said that she should not have been allowed into the Vatican without her shoulders covered. However, some persons said that she obeyed the Vatican rules as she had her shoulders covered with a black jacket.
