Contemporary Christian music group, for King & Country, has released their recent single this week. The track, which was titled ‘’Relate’’ is intended to unite various individuals in moments of division.
The duo whose names are Joel and Luke Smallbone, said that their latest song would give listeners a reason to stay united regardless of their differences. Besides, they desire that those who listen to the song would get to realize that many persons have similar fundamental human experiences. More so, they wish to spur individuals to concentrate on what brings humans together instead of issues which tears them apart.
The Australian natives, now Nashville residents released a statement about ‘’Relate’'. In their words, ‘’Relate is really the ongoing search for compassion and empathy amidst our differences. For us, music has always been about the sense of finding community and connection through the universal language of song.’’
“We’re brought together in a beautiful way by that lyric or melody regardless of our backgrounds, differences or where we’re from. … As the chorus conveys, ‘I don’t know what it’s like to be you, you don’t know what it’s like to be me, but what if we’re all the same in different kinds of ways, can you relate?” they told The Christian Post.
The lyrics read in part: “Has life hit you so hard that you've been knocked down?/ Have you gone too far to find the middle ground?/ Cause I've been real, I've been fake (Ooh-ooh-ooh)/ Been a sinner, been a saint (Ooh-ooh-ooh)/ I've been right, I've been so, so wrong/ Yeah, I've made my mistakes.”
The group released their first album, ‘’Burn the Ships’’ in 2018. It was a successful album. Since then, they have produced only two radio singles. ‘’Together’’ was the first, while ‘’Relate’’ is their second and latest song.
