Christian comedian, Bone Hampton, has been diagnosed with kidney and congestive heart failure. The friendly comedian who is also an actor has been advised to take a break off the stage.
A GoFundMe account has been opened for him. For decades, Hampton has impacted on many lives. He has created laughter and inspired his audience over the years. His recent health challenge has necessitated his team to ask for help – both financial and spiritual. His campaign team released a statement to this effect.
“He is experiencing the fight of his life, and he needs our financial support. Because of the pandemic, opportunities to work in the entertainment industry disappeared. But during the summer of 2021, doors began to open, and life on the road seemed to be returning to normalcy.
‘’Unfortunately, another unexpected setback has beset him. He is experiencing congestive heart failure, as massive amounts of fluid are surrounding his lungs and heart, causing his kidneys to shut down,” the statement read.
Hampton’s health condition has made him to stay for a long period in the hospital. There are no plans for him to leave soon. However, his family and friends believe that God can heal him. They also anticipate when he will regain his health fully.
“But he needs more than just our prayers and well wishes. His doctors have already informed and even ordered him to remain off the stage indefinitely, pending significant improvement in his heart and kidney function. This will be a long journey back to health, but we can help ease the worry and anxiety that result from the inability to work and provide,” the GoFundMe campaign read.
There are plans to use the money raised to pay his medical bills and supplement his lost income. The target is to raise $100,000. Presently, over $53,000 has been raised since August 25.
The “Thou Shalt Laugh 2” comedian has received great support from his colleagues and fans. Christian comedian, Chonda Pierce, shared the GoFundMe link on her Facebook page saying, “My dear friends, please keep praying for my dear friend Bone Hampton.”
