The Platform 2021 Independence Day edition asks a question of the nation with its theme. Nigeria, What Seest Thou? This question is coined from Jeremiah 1:11 and is a very apt one, especially with some of the evolving trends in recent times.
The speakers
are all making their debuts on this stage. Dr. Jumoke Oduwole (Special Adviser to the President on Ease of Doing
Business), Sam Egube (Commissioner for Economic
Planning & Budgets in LASG), Yvonne Johnson (Co-founder/CEO at Indicina), Feyi
Fawehinmi (Policy & Economy Expert) and Dr. Fred Olaleye (President Economic Innovation Institute for
Africa) have all been confirmed to speak at the Abuja venue.
The Convener, Pastor ‘Poju
Oyemade has emphasized that Covid-19 protocols will be observed for the event and so
only a limited number of people will be admitted at the location. As a result
of this registration is mandatory for those that will be in attendance. However,
since this is a media event it will be streamed online and the various mediums
where this will happen will be made available prior to October 1.
The May edition took place on
Worker’s Day with the theme, Is Devolution of Powers the Solution to Nigeria’s
Problems? The speakers included Bishop Matthew Kukah (Sokoto Diocese), Dr.
Olisa Agbakoba (SAN), Prof Eghosa Osaghae (DG, NIIA), Segun Adeniyi (Chariman,
ThisDay Newspaper Board).
This October 1st edition
will no doubt be impactful and generate many conversations on the day and in
the days that lie ahead. Make sure you set those reminders and plug into the
sessions, because there will definitely be much to learn!
