Grammy-winning artist Tori Kelly has said that her faith is very personal to her and it is not something she does only on Sundays. She made this statement in an interview with The Christian Post. Kelly said, “Anyone who knows me personally knows my faith is a part of who I am. I can’t do what I do and feel like God would always come up at some point.
‘It’s been such a part of my life since my childhood. But then, at a certain point, it became very personal to me. It’s really just because it’s a part of who I am. It’s not something that I have to force. It just sort of comes out.”
In a world filled with many challenges, the 28-year-old singer and songwriter admitted that her faith is her place of refuge.
“I just love that visual of having a safe place, having this place of refuge when the world is crazy. Just having that kind of peace to know, ‘OK, I can have this quiet time and it’s just me and God, and I can get my head right and my soul right and then kind of go back out and do my thing,’” she said.
Also, Kelly noted that she has great concern for the young generation. She said, “It’s already hard enough without social media, dealing with comparisons and just life... But then the added pressure of the internet and comparing yourself to things that aren’t always even real. It’s not always even an accurate picture of real life, and we tend to put our best selves out there first,” Kelly said.
In addition, the singer advised the present generation to give more attention to the Scripture rather than spending more time to social media.L
