Blind singer, Blessing Offor, has spoken on the need for people to exhibit an attitude of gratitude. In a recent interview with The Christian Post, he said, "Our baseline attitude should be gratitude. Not to be cliché, but we all got to wake up today. That did not have to happen. Life in context should only leave you grateful.”
He also revealed when he lost his sight and how he has been faring so far. He continued, "I lost a bunch of my vision when I was a kid, right? But I'm here, right? I get to play music for a living. I'm living the dream. That is the same for millions of people right now.
"I don't want anybody else's life but mine. Because whatever they're going through, it's not for you. So we all find ourselves exactly right where God wants us to be and equipped for the thing He wants us to be doing."
The singer also encouraged Christians not to have the mindset that everyone would become a Christian.
"Everything happening is meant to happen, and we have to continue to rely on what we know to be true and not freak out when the world acts crazy because the world is crazy,” he said.
The Nigerian-born artist has not permitted his blindness from hindering him to do what he loves. He said he is committed to sharing his gift with the world in a way that would assist listeners to be hopeful about life.
In February, Offor released his debut EP Brighter Days which had seven songs in it. the collection explains his life experiences and how he has turned every challenging moment in his favor.
He was born blind in one eye. When he was 6 years old, his parents and his uncle relocated to the United States with the intention of seeking better medical help for his eyes. Unfortunately, he lost sight in both eyes when he was 10 years old.
Nevertheless, it did not deter him from doing what he loved. He learned to play the piano and saw himself becoming a great musician like Sam Cook and Stevie Wonder. Presently, he composes all his songs and is making a name for himself in the music industry.
