Hollywood actor, Mark Wahlberg, has encouraged his fans to be consistent in their prayer life. His statement comes in a time when some people are being drawn to things of the world.
Walhlberg, who is featuring in the faith-based film, “Father Stu”, sent his words of encouragement via a video posted on his Instagram page. He said, “I’ve been getting a lot of messages from people who have been praying every day and finding peace. And especially sending wonderful messages about doing the rosary with me on the Hallow app. You got to stay prayed up. God bless you.”
Hallow is a prayer app designed for Catholics. In early April, a partnership was launched by the app’s developers with Wahlberg, who is a Catholic.
The actor is a content creator for the app centered on “Father Stu”, a movie that tells the life of Father Stuart Long, a boxer-turned-priest. Other actors in the film include Mel Gibson.
During a recent interview with CBN’s Faithwire, 50-year-old Wahlberg spoke about the film. He said, “There were powers that be at work here and have been since the very beginning, to intercede along the way and make the movie the right way and get the reaction that we’re getting.
“If this is a movie that really changes people’s lives and motivates them and inspires them to do great things — you know, all I really gotta do is convert one person, and I get to go through the pearly gates.
“So If I can continue to do that in a major way, remaining humble and just doing it for all the right reasons, then I would much rather have that be my legacy than being the biggest box office star in the world. I would like to have a legacy that I had a positive impact on some people.”
