Christian filmmaker and preacher, DeVon Franklin, has been made an expert for the show, "Married at First Sight". He got the role regardless of his divorce from actress, Meagan Good after being married for nine years. Franklin is also known to speak about relationship issues.
"Married at First Sight" is a social experiment that brings together singles who are compatible and are willing to get married to a stranger with the intention of living together forever.
Essence reported that Franklin was recruited to replace Dr. Viviana Coles on the new season of "Married at First Sight."
For the last few seasons of the series, Coles was a celebrity expert alongside Pastor Calvin Roberson and Dr. Pepper Schwartz.
In this Season 15 of the show, Dr. Pia Holec, a notable couples and sex psychotherapist, will be joining Franklin. It will be held in San Diego, California.
Franklin, in his Instagram page, explained why he accepted to be on the show. He said that he had initially wanted to turn down the offer because of his marital status. However, he decided to reconsider his decision.
He said, “Moment of Truth: Last year, Married At First invited me to come on the show. I agreed to do it … and then the divorce hit. They came to me and said that didn't matter to them because they still felt like I could help their couples. I was going to tell them 'No' because I felt shame, and that voice in my head said, 'you're a failure; how can you help anybody save their marriage when yours didn't work out?'
"Then I had to ask myself: Is this how I'm going to live the rest of my life? In fear about what 'people' say? And who are 'people' anyway? So I went back to the team and told them YES, I'll still come. I refuse to live in fear or shame.”
Franklin is notable for movies including Miracles from Heaven, Breakthrough, and Heaven is for Real.
