A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Kelvin Ugwu, has advised that the comments made by founder of Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Fr. Ejike Mbaka, against the presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi, be ignored.
Mbaka had said that Peter Obi cannot win the 2023 presidential race because he is very stingy. However, Fr. Ugwu advised Nigerians to ignore Mbaka’s prophecy because in the past, candidates who were generous did not do the people any good. Instead, they shared peanuts to the masses to buy their votes and abandon them once they get into power.
Fr. Ugwu said, “Nigerians had tried candidates that used to share money. We voted for those that will distribute oils, maggi, indomie, and 1k before the camera, but it landed us in hell.
“This time around, we have vowed never to listen to any self-acclaimed prophet and their prophecies. We are not saying prophecy is not good, but we are saying that the biggest prophecy from God in the 2023 election is for us to use our common senses, which God gave us.
“Finally, we have also vowed not to give shishi when you don’t merit it. We will not bribe anybody. We will not be wasteful. Shishi you will not see unless we see the importance of the project to the masses”.
It will be recalled that in 2015, Mbaka had said that President Muhammadu Buhari was the selected messiah that God would use to take the people to the Promise Land.
However, the opposite has been the case since the emergence of Buhari as Nigeria’s president. The economy has dwindled and there is an increase in the rate of insecurity in the country.
Recently, the president of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, criticized the government of Buhari, describing it as the worst in the country’s history.
The cleric also lamented that undergraduates are at home due to the strike action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities.
Consequently, the media aide of Buhari, Femi Adesina, replied Oyedepo. He said that the cleric is blinded by his hate for the country’s president.
