Christian music group, Maverick City Music, has announced that they would be pausing their relationship with singer, Dante Bowe, after he exhibited “inconsistent” behavior. The group did not however state the inconsistent behavior.
The group, which was formed in 2019, has produced some hit songs including "Jireh" and "Promises".
On Instagram, the group posted that their core values and that of Dowe did not match. Hence, their relationship was paused.
The post read, “Due to behavior that is inconsistent with our core values and beliefs, we have decided to put a pause on our professional relationship with Dante Bowe. Decisions like these are not easy because of the level of nuance, both professionally and personally, but we felt it necessary to address.”
On his part, Bowe announced on Instagram page that he would be taking a break off the platform. He later set his account to private.
He wrote, "In light of recent events and opinions, I’ve talked to some of wisest leaders and brothers around me. “I will be taking time off social media to rest mentally and physically.
“Years ago, when I dreamt of all I would accomplish one day, I didn’t account for the pressure and opinions that would come with it. It’s important for everyone to know when to step back and refocus."
Earlier this month, Bowe was criticized on social media after he sang along to a secular song, “Despues De La Playa” by Bad Bunny, which contains explicit lyrics. According to The Focus, Bowe shared the video to his Instagram account of he and his friends, including some Maverick City affiliates, partying on a bus.
He was later called out by his followers. In this recent development, some persons hailed the group for their decision while other persons criticized it.
