Popular faith-based film, The Chosen Season 3 is set to hit the theatres on November 18. The executive producer of the series, Dallas Jenkins, made this announcement on Facebook.
He wrote, "Most common question I get: 'When's Season 3 coming out?' I now have the same answer you can give your friends: November 18, Episodes 1 and 2 back to back, only in theaters."
The theme for Season 3 of "The Chosen" is based on the New Testament scripture Matthew 11:28 which reads, "Come to me, all you who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest."
The first two episodes will be available on the free streaming platform of the series after its premiere in the theatres. In December, the remaining six episodes will launch on the Chosen App.
The series is centred on the life of Jesus and its first season was released in 2017. Since then, it has gathered a lot of views. So far, the first and second season has gathered more than 400 million views.
Speaking on what fans should expect from season three, he told Desert News, "On one hand, there's a little more pain this season, more questions, more challenges to Jesus. On the other hand, that makes the victories that much sweeter.
"We also see worlds collide a little more this season. The Romans with the Jews, the Pharisees in their pursuit of Jesus. We also see a few new characters fans will be excited about."
Yoshi Barrigas, who is playing the character of Philip, a disciple of Jesus in ‘The Chosen’, praised Jenkins for how he was able to develop the plot in the seasons.
He told CBN's Faithwire, "It's humanizing the parables (of the New Testament) for people, and certainly for the cast, regardless of what our faith system was or is. I think we can all agree that these stories are meaningful and that there's deep, deep old wisdom in them.”
The trailer for season three will be out on October 25. The same day, tickets for the first two episodes will be up for sale.
