Alula, the daughter of the late gospel singer, Sammie Okposo, has spoken up for the first time since her father passed away on November 25.
She mourned her father in an Instagram post saying that God knows best and she is confident that her father will be singing among the angels in heaven.
Alula wrote: “The real truth is I feel like a blank sheet of paper .... just waiting for the different strokes from the paint brushes, God knows best because I know you're definitely jamming with the angels , changing it for them , letting them know say na your voice bad pass ... anyways make we leave story for writer. Big love my G, Rest in Peace.”
Meanwhile, the remains of the late gospel singer, Sammie Okposo, will be laid to rest on December 15 in a private ceremony. This was part of the burial arrangement released by his family recently. Also, a tribute night will be held for him on Tuesday, December 13 in Lagos State, followed by a service of songs on Wednesday.
Apart from Alula, other notable persons have paid tribute to the late “Wellu Wellu” master as Okposo is fondly called.
Nathaniel Bassey wrote, “The news of our brother’s passing, Minister Sammie Okposo, hit me really hard this morning. (I am) still dazed. I pray for God’s comfort and strength for the immediate family, friends and colleagues.” On her part, Tope Alabi said, “Rest in the bosom of the Lord, Sammie Okposo.”
Ada Ehi-Moses posted, “This afternoon, we were hit by the news that Bro Sammie Okposo has transitioned. (I am) shocked and still shocked but we are consoled in the hope that he is alive in the presence of his maker and God.
“We pray for the comfort of the Holy Ghost for his family and everyone directly affected by his passing. It is well, it is well. Say to the righteous, it is well.”
Joe Praize wrote, “So so difficult to take in but we are comforted because we know you are chilling in heaven. A better place."
