Samaritan’s Purse, a non-profit organization headed by popular American preacher, Franklin Graham, has played a tremendous role in supporting the needs of society over the years.
During the week, Graham revealed some of the charity organization’s works and its beneficiaries. On Facebook, he posted pictures of members of his team and a new house Samaritan Purse built for a woman whose home was destroyed by a powerful storm system with tornadoes that tore through Alabama in January 2023.
The preacher wrote, “Miss Henrietta’s house was destroyed by a powerful storm system with tornadoes that tore through Selma, Alabama, in January. We thank God that Samaritan’s Purse was able to build her a new home.
“And she and her family have moved in – just in time for Christmas! She has 11 family members who live with her, including great grandchildren, and she to help our volunteers in any way she could everyday. Welcome home Miss Henrietta!”
On Wednesday, he spoke about the gifts that were sent to children in Israel affected by the war. He wrote, “Yesterday, our Samaritan’s Purse DC-8 and 757 landed in Israel to deliver 24,000 gifts prepared especially for children in the area who have been affected by the October 7 attack and ongoing war.
“Both planes are pictured on the tarmac at Ben Gurion Airport as they are being unloaded. Hundreds of thousands of people are displaced in the country - in some cases entire families are living in one room.
“Children don’t fully understand why they can’t go home. There is a lot of need, a lot of loss and grieving, a lot of discouragement and despair. Pray that these gifts, along with the food and supplies we are providing through local partners, will make a difference for these families.”
Yesterday, December 21, Graham acknowledged the arrival of ambulances that the Samaritan’s Purse is providing to the Israelis after some were destroyed by Hamas during the war.
He wrote, “We are thankful that the first 9 of 14 ambulances that Samaritan’s Purse is providing to replace those destroyed by Hamas during the October 7 attack in Israel/Hamas during the October 7 attack in Israel have just arrived and were delivered to Magen David Adom, the country’s emergency medical response organization.
“We are also providing an additional seven armored ambulances to give greater protection to these dedicated workers who are out there working everyday to save lives.”
