The head pastor of Household of David Church, Pastor Sola Osumakinde, has responded to the fire outbreak that occurred in the church auditorium on Wednesday, January 31. In an emotionally laden voice, he made a video at the burnt church premises where the church’s conference was supposed to commence today.
He said, “Praise God, blessings of grace and we thank God for everything. Mercy Conference starts today but something happened and I want to put a message out there to people. I came up this morning and everyone was setting up. Suddenly, we heard that something was happening and there was a fire up there on the roof of the church.
“The entire church, the air conditioners, the seats, and everything were burnt. I know there will be reactions but that is not my concern now. The most important thing is that we thank God that no life was lost. We are not sad or discouraged. We are happy. According to the bible, all things work together for our good.
“It is a painful experience no doubt but in the name of Jesus, we are more than conquerors. Someone came into the compound and was mocking, asking where was Jesus when all these happened. We don’t respond to that. All things work together for our good. We are still going to have our meeting in the premises this evening, and it is going to be a great time. We will know what to do about rebuilding. Every contribution and word of encouragement is necessary now. We thank God for everything.”
The programme was shifted to High Point Event Centre, Agidingbi, Lagos. Also, the church sent a declaimer to those sending funds to bank accounts published on social media.
In a statement released on it social media platforms, the church said, “Our attention has been drawn to imposters soliciting funds from our well-meaning community using different social media channels.
“We wish to state that the Household of David has not and will not request financial support to any accounts or third-party imposters on behalf of the church. For inquiries and information on how to support God’s work, please contact the church via our verified social media channels.”
