Gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey has shown support to the Household of David Church, Ikeja, Lagos after their premises were burnt down today.
The church was supposed to commence its conference today when the sad incident happened. According to the head pastor of the church, Sola Osunmakinde, the conference will still be held, and it was moved to the High Point Event Centre at Agidingbi, Lagos.
After the first day of the programme on Wednesday night, the church posted pictures of Nathaniel Bassey and Pastor Osunmakinde having a conversation. The photos were captioned, “We are always thrilled to receive the ministry of Pastor Nathaniel Bassey at the Household of David."

Some hours earlier, Osunmakinde had reacted to the fire incident at the church. He made a video saying, “He said, “Praise God, blessings of grace and we thank God for everything. Mercy Conference starts today but something happened and I want to put a message out there to people. I came up this morning and everyone was setting up. Suddenly, we heard that something was happening and there was a fire up there on the roof of the church.
“The entire church, the air conditioners, the seats, and everything were burnt. I know there will be reactions but that is not my concern now. The most important thing is that we thank God that no life was lost. We are not sad or discouraged. We are happy. According to the Bible, all things work together for our good.
“It is a painful experience no doubt but in the name of Jesus, we are more than conquerors. Someone came into the compound and was mocking, asking where Jesus was when all these happened. We don’t respond to that. All things work together for our good. We are still going to have our meeting in the premises this evening, and it is going to be a great time. We will know what to do about rebuilding. Every contribution and word of encouragement is necessary now. We thank God for everything.”
