As the Super Eagles of Nigeria take on the Antelopes of Angola in the ongoing African Cup of Nations tournament, several people have reacted to the game happening in Ivory Coast today, Friday.
On Thursday, February 1, a popular singer Nathaniel Bassey shared his thoughts on the game as he advised his countrymen not to miss their chances. He also prayed that at the end of the game, the Super Eagles will only shed tears of joy.
He wrote on X, “Why am I praying and the next thing I’m seeing is about Super Eagles? And hey, it’s not though I am thinking about them per se o. I have not even told you what I saw. Well, we must take every chance that comes our way. It’s not the day to miss chances. I saw two people on the bench crying. May we not have cause to weep about the match and our players. If we have to weep, may it be tears of joy o. Amen. So, it lifts the nation. It’s been tough lately.”
Some social media users have reacted to the post of the “Jesus Iye” crooner. They also wished the Super Eagles all the best. Check out some of their comments below:
@God_of_X said: ‘I have seen Osimhen score a hat-trick but people don’t believe me anyways. Smh.”
@Ebyfyn: “We are winning.”
@Dickson Adamson: “Nathaniel Bassey, I take everything you say serious because the last time we played, you said we should pray for our goalkeeper and until he was knocked down, that was when I now remembered your post on X. Please pray and let’s know what God is saying about our match.”
@AmakaOkwuogiri: “There shall be rains of goals that will make us shout Jesus Iye”
@Odogwuanyammee: “Oga it’s just a football match. It’s either they win or lose. That’s it.”
