Mountain Top Chorale wins 2 gold medals at World Choir Games

It was a moment of celebration for Nigerian Christians, especially Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry members, as the church’s Mountain Top Chorale bagged two gold medals at the World Choir Games.

The choristers represented Nigeria at the competition described as the largest choral competition on Earth. It had over 11, 000 participants from 30 nations for the event hosted in Auckland, New Zealand.

The General Overseer of the mega-church, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, took to social media to celebrate his choristers as he announced the medals they won.

On Saturday, July 20, he wrote on Facebook: “Congratulations to the @mountaintopchorale who won 2 gold medals. Representing Nigeria, joined over 11,000 singers from more than 30 countries in Auckland, New Zealand for the largest choral competition, the 2024 World Choir Games.

“Their performance featured ‘Ekiti Medley’ composed by Dr. Daniel Olukoya and arranged by Seun Owoaje, a medley of warfare and battle-ready songs designed to invigorate the spirit man, and a host of other compositions.

“They competed and won a gold medal in Category C19 - Contemporary Music Mixed Voices and C22 – Spiritual earned 83.38 points, and were awarded a gold medal.”

According to the preacher, the World Choir Games is a prestigious international competition that celebrates the rich tapestry of choral music from around the globe and fosters global harmony through song.
