The General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has announced that the number of babies delivered at the 72nd Annual Convention as of Friday night, August 9, was 73.
According to the 82-year-old cleric, the babies were 34 girls and 39 boys. He made this announcement on Saturday morning, August 10, before his sermon. Also, he stated that the babies comprised a set of twin girls.
Adeboye said, “The number of children born during this convention by 6pm on Friday evening had increased to 73. We had another set of twins today. Now, we have a total of 39 boys and 34 girls.
“Once again, let the boys shout ‘Praise the Lord!’ and let the girls shout ‘Hallelujah!’ Don’t worry; the girls are trying to catch up. In fact, the set of twins is two girls. It must be a special day for girls also.”
Recording childbirths have become a norm during the convention which is held at the church’s campground at Mowe, Ogun State. Both the old and new auditoriums were filled with thousands of worshippers.
The convention began on Monday, August 5, and rounded up on Sunday, August 11. Recall that during the 2023 convention, 62 babies were delivered and they comprised 31 females and males.
Adeboye’s message was titled ‘Let There Be Light’, and he shared the meaning of his sermon. He said it could mean three things – a command from God, advice from God, or a cry for help.
The octogenarian asked the congregation to pray for the royal fathers in attendance and against any form of darkness in their lives and that of their families. He also announced that the theme for the next annual convention will be ‘Overcomers’.
