Gospel singer, Nathaniel Bassey, has joined several Nigerians who celebrated Pastor Jerry Eze on his 42nd birthday on August 22.
In his lengthy birthday post, the Ebenezer crooner recalled how Eae started his ministerial work in Umuahia, Abia State. He also praised the celebrant's consistency over the years.
Bassey wrote: "My dear Brother and Friend, Pastor Jerry! And PJ for short. I feel like writing this to you today. Happy birthday, Sir. Your heart for God is one of a kind. Right from the days of Streams of Joy fellowship in Umuahia where we first met, you have remained steadfast and unwavering in your pursuit of God. People only see NSPPD now, and think you just “blew” - but some of us know a little of the story behind the glory.
“Even I wondered how you could sustain NSPPD everyday with all the demands that come with it knowing how pressing just a few days of The Hallelujah challenge can be. But alas, it keeps growing in leaps and bounds. Hallelujah!
"I have watched you face fierce attacks and criticisms back to back. And like I tell you, it is part and parcel of the call."
The Jesus Iye crooner, who is also a pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God, shared a portion from the Bible - Mark 10:29-30 - to buttress his point on the celebrant.
“29. And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s.
"30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.”
Bassey emphasized on the child-like nature of Eze and he noted that he would not be able to please everyone no matter how hard he tries.
He continued: “On a day like this, I write to salute, and celebrate you my brother. And to encourage you publicly like I have always done privately. Your childlike heart is your major asset. Never stop being Abba’s cry baby, despite being God’s Man-servant. Set your face as a flint. And remember you will never be able to please every one no matter how hard you try.
“Never forget there are multitudes giving thanks to God for the day you were born. Keep dreaming big, and seeing the nations call out to God in prayer. And fix your eyes on the heavenly goal. And having done all to stand, nwanne, STAND! And the next thing now is to find a way to eat the birthday cake. Jerry Eze is a burning and shining light. and his generation rejoice in his light. John 5:35.
"And by the way, before I forget, “
What God cannot do, does not exist. Happy birthday dear Brother. @realjerryeze.”
