The protest began on August 1 and is expected to end on August 10 nationwide. As Nigerians took to the streets, the popular preacher, who is the President of Evangelical Bible Outreach Ministries International (EBOMI), showed solidarity with the people.
Tinubu had given a presidential speech to address the protest but none of the people’s demands were met. Hence, El-Buba described the speech as watery.
In his Sunday sermon on August 4, he noted that he and other protesters were law-abiding citizens. However, Tinubu must do the right thing and ensure that the aim of the protest is met.
The hashtag for the protest is #EndBadGovernance in Nigeria and some people have noted that if Tinubu does not improve on his economic policies, they will seek his resignation.
Many people have praised El-Buba for standing behind the people in this critical period. More so, he stated that contrary to some statements in some areas, the protests continued in Jos, Plateau State, on Monday, August 5.
Below are some of the reactions to El-Buba’s posts on Facebook.
