Wife of Ogun pastor, Fola Achudume, dies at 55

Rev. Fola Achudume, the wife of the General Overseer of Victory Life Bible Church (VLBC), Abeokuta, Ogun State, Apostle Lawrence Achudume, is dead.

According to reports, she died on August 3, 2024, after a brief illness at the age of 55. The sad news was announced by the Assistant General Overseer of the church, Pastor Adeoye Adeyanju, during its Sunday service on August 4.

In Adeyanju’s words: “At this juncture, I want to announce to VLBC members, everyone, and friends that in the early hours of yesterday, our mother, Rev. Fola Achudume, has gone to be with the Lord. She will be 56 on September 6.”

The news was confirmed by a close family friend and Publicity Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Ogun State, Tunde Oladunjoye.

He described the demise of the relationship and leadership coach as the worst news of the year.

The politician told Punch Newspapers: “Unfortunately, people that I called have confirmed this worst news of the year. It is a family that I am very close to, and I am already on my way to their house to register my condolence. It’s so hard to believe! It’s so saddening! My consolation is that she has gone to join the saints.“

Several netizens have expressed sadness over the death of the preacher.

Obadire Oluwapamilerin wrote: “I was very pained when I saw this news today. The last time I saw her was when she ministered at YMR 202. May her soul rest in peace and God keep her family.”

Olafimihan Gbaleyi said: “Rest in peace Pastor (Mrs) Fola Achudume. May the Lord comfort your husband, children, and the church. It is well.”

Dapo Oyedele: “This too shocking. May her soul rest in peace and may the Lord grant the family and friends great comfort to hear the loss.”

Iyaise Precious commented: “Omo, she was my son’s first proprietress at Faith Heritage School. So sad. Very nice woman.”

Jonathan Onojedje said: “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. May her soul rest in the bosom of God.”
