Dame Christine Doja, the mother of billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola, was honoured by Pope Francis with Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice. It is the highest award given to women for their service to the Catholic Church and the Pope.
Femi announced the news with several pictures of his 92-year-old mum receiving the award. He noted that the honour was well deserved. The Archbishop Emeritus of Lagos, Cardinal Anthony Olubunmi Okojie, was also present at the grand occasion.
Speaking about the honour, Femi wrote on Instagram: “Congratulations Mummy - Dame Christine Doja - on your award of the Papal honour of Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice by His Holiness Pope Francis. This is a honour well deserved.”
