Frank Edwards cautions Christians mocking ‘I am a chosen’ testimony

Gospel singer Frank Edwards has lent his voice to the ‘I am a chosen’ trend aimed at taunting the viral testimony of a member of The Lord's Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries.

According to some netizens, some of the testimonies given in the church are outrageous and they mocked the member who said he was shot several times but nothing happened to him because he was a Chosen (member).

Edwards noted that it was wrong for Christians to join in the trend, especially when they may be asking God to give them a miracle.

The Omemma crooner wrote on Facebook: “Don’t join the chosen joke no matter how funny you find it. Once you mock miracles, real or not, it becomes difficult for you to receive one when you most need it in life.

The 35-year-old continued, “Believe me on this! If you watch the full video of some of those stories you will hear the person testifying say it was in a dream, but the media would cut that part away to form a narrative.

“Be it true or not. Don’t form the habit of mocking miracles, because that is the devil's way of making it impossible for you to receive one when you most need it in your life. Take this seriously.

“On days like this your mouth will be running happily for likes and comments! But when challenges come social media people won’t be there. Guard your mouth and guard your life! May you not need a miracle and not find one.”

Reactions to Frank Edwards' post

Christianity Nigeria has compiled some of the reactions on Frank Edwards’ Facebook page.

Festus Ifeanyi Okoye: “Thank God I have a supporter. I have been telling people this. In the market today, I explained tire while trying to talk sense into scoffers as though I am a chosen. But, I am just protecting God's image. Someone of higher voice should tell their authorities to scrutinize their testimonies, stop exaggerating, and guide the testifiers rightly so they don't bring God's work to scorn.”

Enni Francis: “Yes sir, If Samson was in this era they would doubt he actually used an animal jaw to kill thousands.”

Fiki Song: “Thank God I've exempted myself from it because the joke is too much and it's downgrading the power of God on the church causing unbelievers to mock us and we (the church) are selling ourselves out to the world just because we want to go viral! God have mercy sha!”

Emmanuel Ejim Omang: “With utmost respect sir this chosen guys own na wa o. Them too do.”

Flora The Digital Banker: “I tried to avoid them all sir. I watched the clip where the elderly woman said she was in a dream. But no they didn't see that part. I believe in miracles! I have experienced miracles and I pray to have even more. Thank you for providing a safe space for us here.”
